Santa Teresa
Lodging Recommendations
We would love to have everyone stay at our venue, but unfortunately it is a very intimate resort and there are only 9 rooms. If you would like to stay at our venue The Blue Mist Hotel please let us know as soon as possible. Otherwise we recommend booking your accommodations in the main town of Santa Teresa. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with questions.

GETTING AROUND
We recommend getting a 2 person ATV for the entire length of your stay. The roads in Santa Teresa are dusty and bumpy, so having an ATV will give you the most thrilling and enjoyable experience. You can effortlessly explore the neighboring cities and beaches, making the most of your stay. Furthermore, the easy parking available for ATVs enhances the convenience of this option. When you contact the company to book, let them know your hotel and length of stay and they will drop off your ATV upon arrival and pick it up for you before you leave to the airport. You will definitely need some sort of transportation around town as the weather is not ideal for walking.
*For anyone who might want a more comfortable ride check out the link provided for Blue Zone Buggy who rents four passenger Honda Mules. We would recommend booking these in advance.
Things to do
Currency
Credit cards are widely accepted by most businesses in Santa Teresa. Just make sure your credit card company doesn’t charge a foreign transaction fee. In addition to credit cards, it's a good idea to have some local currency. The national currency of Costa Rica is the Costa Rican Colón (CRC). We recommend bringing some USD for your tours, but if you would like some local currency (Colónes) for shopping, there are 3 ATMs in town with great exchange rates. Keep in mind that some ATMs may have a daily withdrawal limit, so plan your withdrawals accordingly. Also, be aware that power outages can occasionally cause ATMs and credit card readers to go offline, so having some local currency in hand can be a helpful backup.
In February, the average temperature in Santa Teresa ranges from a high of 88°F to a low of 75°F. During this time of year, it's quite warm with a light breeze. The days are hot and sunny with low humidity and beautiful sunsets. The water is warm, ideal for a refreshing swim or a surf lesson. As evening comes, the nights cool down, making it a great time to go check out the restaurants and shops.
